Individual and Group Counseling, and Family Support

Approach

Child and adolescent counseling focuses on teaching children how to access internal and external resources that will boost their confidence and foster adaptive thinking. A range of therapeutic modalities are used and tailored to the needs of the individual and family. Treatment modalities include, but are not limited to Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy and, Behavior Activation Therapy.

An integral aspect of this approach is working with parents and guardians to support positive results in their children. As a parent of a child with disabilities, I recognize that parenting a child with special needs and navigating academic supports poses unique challenges. I provide counseling supports to parents, guardians, and couples to improve communication and develop family routines to support success for their child.
